Being that I was nervous and anxious about buying a home. It was nice to have Mac tell me what my highest housing payment could be and still be comfortable, especially what number I should stay closest to so that I did not go over my planned monthly budget.

The first time I spoke with Mac was over the phone, he was very professional and personable. I felt that I was in good hands, and speaking to a gentleman that was good at what he does. I did NOT feel like cattle being herded through the system.
When I finally met Mac in person, we were going over all the details with our realtor, at his office. While we were with our realtor, Mac was busy finding the best rate for our mortgage. We had got a good rate initially, but by him going that extra mile and coming back to us with a new rate, really impressed me, and showed me that he cared about his customers and that his customers have names, not just numbers as you find now and days with companies you go to, for whatever reason.
Mac is one of the few people that I have dealt with who seems to love his job and will always, and my guess, continually to go that extra mile, to do whatever it takes in his power to make his customers happy.
The entire process for my wife and I was painless. It wasn't the horror stories you always seem to hear when trying to get a loan for a new home. Going into this I figured it would be strictly business as usual until we went to settlement. After settlement I would never see or hear from Mac again. I was wrong, AGAIN.
We received a card in the mail from Mac (one of the first pieces of mail we got at our new home) thanking us for using him and Sterling Mortgage, and sending his congrats on the new home.
There is no question, no doubt that I would recommend Sterling Mortgage, and Mac to anyone looking for someone to help them re-finance, or buying a home, the experience was great, Mac was awesome.

I first learned of Mac through my realtor who recommended him when I was interested in buying a new home in late February, '07. Mac called me back the same day! He worked diligently with my husband and me for several months until we finally went to closing in late July.

When I began to thinking that I would like to purchase my first home in the next year or two, I went to Mac for advice. I was concerned about old credit blunders and what I could do to get approved for a mortgage in the future.
I felt silly having to go over my credit mistakes with someone, but Mac put me at ease and gave me an easy plan on how to attack the old issues and start to build good credit. He gave me a package with user friendly forms to aid me as I tackled the annoying credit agencies.
I followed his advice and my credit score jumped 100 points! In less than 6 months I was at settlement!
That was amazing enough, but I have not even mentioned how hard Mac worked with me during the process. I found my dream home with a little bit higher of a price tag and he worked hard to get me approval and the best rate possible.
Then I had to switch to another house just a week before settlement due to a seller issue. He got everything changed over to my new house in record time and even got me a lower rate!
His processor, Virginia also worked hard getting everything done. At one point I was on vacation and they took the extra steps to get me the proper documentation. I had to call Mac on a Sunday and while he was on his vacation. WHAT SERVICE! I was so impressed!
Having Mac at the Settlement table was also awesome. He had given sooo much but came to settlement with a great big smile, a bottle of wine and more goodies for me. It made a happy day even happier!!!!!!!!!!

James and I have a unique story also. We were both divorced, had 6 kids between us and left in a financial rut that we both could not seem to get out of, this happens to so many people after divorce.
Both of us had to file bankruptcy then we got married and then we had to find a home because the one I was renting was going up for sale and I did not want to rent anymore, no matter what.
We never thought that only after about 5 to 6 months of filing bankruptcy that we would get a loan for a house but then we found Mac Church and Sterling Mortgage. Mac told us up front what to expect, what we needed to do and that he would do his best for us.
First there were problems with the home inspection because the house was older and the first company he found to finance us wanted money down and then they eventually backed out. We thought at that point that it was never going to happen. Then Mac kept working at it and finally found us a mortgage company that would accept us and we finally got the home inspection worked out and got approved for the loan!
I couldn't believe the rate that Mac found for us for recently filing the bankruptcy. Mac was straight up with us, efficient and there were no surprises at closing or anywhere else and he feels like an old friend to us, like we have known him forever.
It's now been 2 years and Mac just took care of refinancing for us. He gave us a lot of tips to help get our credit score up and keep it going up for these last 2 years. Again... he made it so easy and always kept in touch and the other people at Sterling Mortgage are fantastic as well, Virginia was a pleasure to work with.

Let me tell you an amazing, wonderful true story about a couple named David and Margie (me) Stout. We had a real rough time financially for quite a while - even went through bankruptcy. Even though that helped us to a degree, we were still burdened with a heavy 1st mortgage and 2nd mortgage and car payments. My wife and I had spoke with other Mortgage lenders and they did not show any interest in our issues we were facing to refinance.
